there are no less than 3 non-binding resolutions floating around about the war….
why do it if it is non binding??? it is just so they can hear themselves speak… like us bloggers… we love to see our words posted for the handful of people that read to see
but in this case… by doing this… they are aiding the enemy with propaganda and showing them that since the country is divided… they just need to hold out for a little bit longer
unlike generations past… the united states seems to have lost its resolve to finish the job that it started…
what is the gain in passing a non binding resolution? just to bash bush… you have done that enough already.. and you can continue… but not in this manner. you hate the war… too bad.. we are in it.. and pulling out is not like what you think it is… the election was the referendum.. there is no need for yet another thing to say you are against the war… we know already… you have been saying it for years… it is nothing new… just that you feel you have some power, now that you are the majority party…
wait… you hate the war? you hate bush? we had no idea… really… could you tell us again. and pass some legislation that says you hate george bush…
the war is not like simcity or civilization games that work themselves out in hours or days… it is going to take a while even after the war is done to bring people home. have you thought about the logistics of moving that many people? what happens to the terrorists whenwe leave iraq? are they just going to stop fighting… or be enboldened by ‘defeating’ or making the united states ‘retreat’? and bring it here… or other places. remember.. we were not in afganistan or iraq when 9/11 happened… they came here. lived here. trained here. planned here.
look wht happened after we left iraq after gulf war 1 … we had to go back.
look at what happened in afganistan after the russians left…
look at what happened when we left somalia… after blackhawk down.
look at what happened in vietnam after we left
why do we still have a presence in german after world war II…
there is some saying about history and not learning from the past and doom or something…
it has taken this long to make sure that the germans don’t go back to the way they were… back in nazi days.
stop funding? or even talking about it? what is the message to the troops that are there… after X day.. you are out of luck.. and you will have to suck it up cause we are not sending any more money…
those opposed to the war spout the … we support the troops, but we are against the war… umm… the troops are in the war. and by yapping your gums… you are hurting morale… you are making it harder for the troops… by giving those that would kill us more recruiting tools.. show that we are not resolute in our fight with them…
if you support the troops… shut the heck up… wait till the fighting is over.. and then you can have all the yakitty yak you want to have… but let the troops do what they need to do
yeah.. you have the right to voice your opinion.. but you should not… not right now… have a little bit of patience.. and that is not in the 30 second attention span… prozac induced, adhd mentality that makes you not stay on task… and move on to the next shiny thing… or get hyperfocused on this single issue without putting everything into perspective.. first amendment.. check. patriotism… inconclusive… determination to finish what was started… no. we need a huge national dose o ritalin or something so everyone can focus on what the real issue is.
either we go and get them… or they will come here like they have numerous times already.. and harm us here.
both the democrats and republicans have failed the troops. this is not politics. this is not a game….
so you pass the resolution… does that change how fast the troops come home? does it bring back those that were lost? dos it change how the commander and chief executes the war? last i knew… congress is not in charge of running a war..
although it has been political suicide… bush et al.. are the only ones that have held a modicum of steadfastness that is a show of force and determination to the terrorists… in this.. president bush has done an excellent job. he seems stubborn and ’staying the course’ but that is how things get done.. that is how the troops come home..
did i say shut up already… yeah… it bears repeating… shut the heck up… and let the troops do what they need to do.. support the troops.. even if you hate the war… and yeah.. shut up… and quit doing stupid stuff like the non binding resolutions
