i got it at costco and it is actually a pretty good chair for my back.  The chair is by true innovations and won the platinum design award from the award for design excellence site for 2010.  and being costco… the price was great for it.

in the past few weeks, we had the killing of george tiller (the baby killer abortionist), we had the shooting in alabama army recruiting center where one of the 2 recruiters shot is dead… but you would not know it happened based on the volume of coverage for george tiller.

and today, the shooting by some 89 year old white supremacist james von brunn… who took a rifle and a sawed off shotgun i think.. and shot a guard before two other guards shot him.

some are going to play the political game and say that this was a right wing extremist…

it is great that they want to close guantanamo … but they are just going to have to rebuild something someplace else … or extend things in places like supermax in colorado .. and living in denver.. i do not want these guys anywhere near my family .. even in a supermax.  dont you guys watch prision break?  i dont want colorado to become a target .. we love being semi anonymous  and i would some other place being hit first if they decide to attack again

people may feel that guantanamo is bad …. but compared to north korean prison camps .. i would volunteer to go to guantanamo bay versus spending any time in anything that north korea will dish out.  they need to look at the scale of what they think is ‘torture’ that may be inflicted on terrorists… compared to day to day _torture_ that north koreans being caught trying to flee to china, having a bible, speaking against the government…  aside from some of the fringe people… most people understand that even if you voiced protest against obama .. you will not be ‘disappeared’ like you might in other countries.

the only saving grace for the women is that they are american and being used as pawns in the nuclear crazy dear leader death spiral game … and they will be kept relatively safe, fed, and in good condition to be presented on tv etc …

as some of you know, i was lucky enough to get to go out to korea on short notice for my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary.  and although they had an arranged marriage… my grandparents showed love and care that even people that voluntary marry dont ever show.

it ended up being 19 of us from the states going out there for the celebration.  As eldest grandchild and being a boy and all … it was extra special for me to be there … and my son is the eldest grandchild … and a boy .. so again extra extra special

there was also more than 2 dozen immediate family and some cousins as well…

my grandfather made the whole trip memorable (not that it was not anyway) but made it even more special for my son christian who went with me.  we had gone to just spend some time with my grandpa and grandma the night before we were supposed to come back and my grandfather said the following

he said that he had the most important first borns in his life.  my grandmother was a firstborn … i was the first grandchild and their first grandchild was there as well. i admit i cried for a bit cause it is so awesome just sitting in the same room as my grandfather and grandmother… but for him to say something like that… was profound…. and also out of character for a korean

i hope fly them out to denver next year… or take the whole family out … and set aside a few days of just being around my grandparents… even if we are not doing anything…

i called san fran lost and found and the airline and they said that in the time i realize they were missing (walking thru customs) and looking up contact info and reporting the ‘loss’ they disappeared.

what would you do? would you keep something as simple as earphones if found on a plane? would you turn it it? if you worked the lost and found dept.. would you swipe them? i think most places have a rule about you becoming the new owner if the item is not claimed after X number of days … but this was within hours. would you have waited the 14-30 days to to take ownership of something you ‘found’ or just thought … who cares .. and skipped the lost and found?

i missed my earphones so much, that i had to order some new ones… and i found a last pair of shure se410 earphones (normally ~$400) on amazon for under $100.  so i think i did ok… just irritated that simple things like this are not returned.

i found a lot of ‘used’ earphones without boxes or the additional earbuds and proof of ownership … i guess i should have looked for used slc3 earphones on craigslist and other sites…

well anyway… i cant wait

and what is with the birdman?  i like that he worked through the drug suspension and is back, appreciating the game that he plays and is one of those guys doing the little things like signing autographs before and after the game.  interesting that he was more popular with the fans than carmelo, chaunce, or even iverson.

i thought the altitude migraine was going easy on me too… and that came back with a vengeance.

all as well .. we tried to take the kids fishing at aurora reservoir and that sucked .. and then the rain came.

we love rain, but this was flash flood rain for a bit while we were having lunch

recently, i went on a 24 day no-shaving documentation tour to show you the plight of the asian man and the ability to grow some facial hair.  this was a shave @ easter time, and then not touching a razor for more than 3 weeks.  I will make an animated video of it for you all to laugh at…

anyway, the thing that i wanted to show was that looks are deceiving.  up until i was about 7, i had coppery/reddish hair and it started to get darker with age… the weird part was that hair on my chin was about 30% red/coppery so it blended in with my skin and so it looked like i had even less hair

so here is the picture of my chin after 24 days…

again… more than 3 weeks of not shaving anywhere on my face … and that is all i got.  it does come in like a decent gotee shape and everything, but it is sparse at best

so hopefully this pic is a clear indication that it is not for lack of trying, it just ‘looks’ like there is less hair because of  my red hairs… which also helped foster the freak of nature korean thing…

last year was the first and my bud dave powers spent loads of time and effort organizing it … (i know that he wants it to be a nameless and faceless expression of his faith and that the focus be on God, but dave is the instrument, hands and feet that took the first steps of thousands to get the first heavenfest organized) … getting bands and artists like jeremy camp, skillet, group one crew and the like… and making it a great day to soak in the sun and music.

they will call bill clinton, jummy carter, newt gingrich, and others that are no longer in office with their former title, but they call the current president, geirge bush, by just bush, mr bush, and not president… and barack saying.. this has been YOUR president… referencing george bush.  so the left still feels that president bush is not their president… so can the right say the same thing if barack gets into office?

i know.. i call barack and john by their first name.. but that is cause i dont like either of them.  if i had a vote, i would not have voted for any of the 4 people on the 2 tickets…   i am just an alien and you americans just take my taxes and i get no say…

i think that is the image that iran needs to see… we are anti-you as long as palin is not there.  or we are anti-you until we are going to look like a SNL skit.

come on hillary.  cant you put aside your fangs for one day and just support Israel… as the UN announces today that iran is retrofitting their missiles/rockets to carry nuclear payload.  and we all know where those are headed

i wonder if these guys have tried hacking barack obamas personal emails… or john mccains … wait he does not know how to use a computer… or joe biden… or hillary … and if ANY of them have discussed issues … even of work related topics over email …

look at toyota… they have the prius and the echo… both getting about the same gas milage… but the prius is usually in $25,000+ and the echo is under $10,000 … so what gives?

every hybrid out there out paces their similar gas friendly compact or subcompact by 2x or higher in price for about the same gas mileage…

so if it is fuel efficiency, then these people are just douches that are driving around saying, hey look at me, i am driving a hybrid and saving the world, while you drive by in a geo  metro that cost 25% of the prius and get better gas mileage

what good is an electric car if you have to plug in every 40 miles… some people have one-way commutes longer than that… cause that is where the cheaper affordable housing was.  and the tesla.. awesome car and fast too … but over $100,000 for it .. yeah … not in this lifetime

look at even that stupid looking smart fortwo .. that gets about 32 miles a gallon .. really? it is a lawn mover engine on less than a golf cart and it gets worse mileage than a 4 door sedan like the camry

if these people were so serious about fuel efficiency, they would give up there hippy vans, and extra secure suburbans, mercedes and limos and drive sub compacts … or are they worries that people are going to think their credit is whack and driving off the lot in a a used sub compact?

have you been over to europe?  been to france or italy and the cars that they drive there?  those cars in the bourne identity movies… that you can drive down stairs or fit into the back of an SUV… all of of 4 banger mini cars… rarely seeing anything in the 6 cylinder range, and 8 cylinders? mon dieu

and how do they power their electrical needs… nuclear plants… and how about america … mostly coal.  why? cause one scare like 3 mile island was a talking point to prevent building of any new nuclear plants…

they ran a reunion show this past week where one of the interventionists, jeff van vonderen, said that he had been in a struggle with alcohol in the past 6 months and was in treatment

he is the older bald guy and stated that he had been a drug user in the 70s but in the past 6 months, his drinking had taken over

it is so hard to see the good that the show does, the exploitation that kind of occurs for some of the people and their situations, and also the amazing transformations you see… and having to see that the grip the disease/addiction is something that these people never get over and is always lurking around

and finally there is the narrative of the ability of the united states to remove terrorists by spreading democracy in the middle east … namely iraq

so people might jump on sarah palin about her not knowing what charlie meant by the question, but i think she also did fine asking in what respect or scope the question was trying to get an answer

the issue seems to be when he is off prompter and in sit down interviews… he uses ‘ummm’ almost every few words, hem and haws, pauses, uses things like ‘come on’, ‘you know’, makes gaffs like the ‘my muslim faith’ and ’57 states’ things that are just goofy, and just makes me so frustrated listening to him that i want to punch him in the face through the tv or the youtubes or the radio

on the other hand, sarah palin has given a well read speech as well during the convention and also had to deal with a teleprompter that lost its mind and she basically was off prompter for the second half of her speech and she still did a fine job.

i was trying to compare the interviews that obama has given over the many months .. actually years now, compared to the week 2 weeks of sarah palin getting the full on frontal barrage that she has had to deal with… and this.. being her first nationally televised interview

for someone that is touted as being very articulate and a great speaker… i do  not see that when he is off prompter or in live forums….
