with my huge weight gain… i grew some man boobs… and after a shower with my son… i did something that ended up being on a family guy movie that came with my kids sony psp

i just lack the hair…

i think george bush has hypoethanosis…

it is so hard listening to prez g_bush speaking anymore….

if you listen to him speaking back when he was liquored and coked up when his dad was president…. he was confident.. spoke eloquently… and did not have that texas drawl…

you know.. everyones body chemistry is different.. and maybe he is best with a little ethanol or some blow

back when he was drinking and snorting.. he was doing well… doing excellent work… but since he went sober.. he has been stumbly mumbly and downright goofy

so.. for the good of the nation.. and to show the people how you really are… drink a glass of wine at dinner… have the cook use the good bourbon..  something… you are ‘harming’ yourself by depriving yourself to something your body was so used to

my friend cak wrote something today that was nice to run across during a hectic day that proved needing of some soaking… carrots, eggs, and coffee

A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up.  She was tired of fighting and struggling.  It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.  Her mother took her to the kitchen.  She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire.  Soon the pots came to boil.  In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans.  She let them sit and boil; without saying a word.

In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots and eggs out and placed them in separate bowls Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl.  Turning to her daughter, she asked, “Tell me what you see.”

“Carrots, eggs, and coffee,” she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots.  She did and noted that they were soft.  The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it.  After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg.  Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma.  The daughter then asked, “What does it all mean?”

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity:  boiling water.  Each reacted differently.  The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting, however, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak.  The egg had been fragile.  Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.  The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.  “Which are you?” she asked her daughter. “When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?

Consider this:  Which one would best describe you Are you the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity, do you wilt and become soft and lose your strength?  Are you the egg that starts with a soft heart, but changes with the heat?  Did you have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, become hardened and stiff?  Does your shell look the same, but on the inside reveal bitterness with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?  Or are you like the coffee bean?  The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain.  When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor.  If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials at their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity?

The happiest of people don’t necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.  The brightest future will always be based on a forgiven past you can’t go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

a sawbuck.. is a 10 spot.. $10… for those not in the know

i went to a taco joint yesterday.. one that offered k-fed a job… and went through the drive-thru…

the total was $6.32…

i gave them $11.07 cause that was all i could find at the time…. so i could get $5.75 back .. i like doing this to make them work on the math a bit… give them some random change to get larger bills back or even numbers.. or even larger coins.. like quarters for nickles… or dimes for pennies.. depending on the amount
well.. the guy asks if i have a quarter… so i scrounge up couple of nickles, a dime and pennies and gave it to them….

i got the food.. and then they handed me the change… $15.50. so they gave me an extra $10…

i didn’t realize what they had given me until i left… and was back at work… and i did not want to drive back…

today… i went back and went inside.. and tried to give it back.. and initially she thought i was asking for change … and said i would have to wait to until i ordered to have the register open… i went through again… and explained what happened… that i did not want the guy to get in trouble… that i had gotten too much change back the day before… and i think she finally got it…

as i placed my order and was waiting for my food.. i saw her palm the $10 bill and walk over to the side… not sure if she pocketed the thing or not… but at least it was not me.

i hate when things like this happen… you are leaving a grocery store and they forget to scan the right things or you get home from the mall and realize that they did not charge you for something … and you don’t want to drive back the 20 miles to return it… or whatever…

do you call them and give them a credit card number? do you drive back?

why is this important… the co-worker that i went with was like… you are giving back free money? it is counter-intuitive to give something back… if it was their mistake… but i explained that to the worker.. it is like 1.5 hours wage or something… that the money did not add up yesterday…. maybe got written up… maybe fired…

what are some of your stories of free stuff that you got.. and did you keep it..

i also wonder if this is the walking the walk that is the stumbling block for many.. and confuses non-christians… living the life makes it hard to get free stuff .. hehe

so installed office 2007 last night.. and it is purdy….like mac osx aqua style on windows…

i did an upgrade and it ran fine

this is what it looks like… a little too much baby blue for me… so i switched it to a black motif

the ‘ribbon’ feature is gonna take a little more getting used to… but the app runs fast and a lot of the common tasks are available without having to drill down deep into sub menus and such…

actually looking forward to incorperating both non-beta versions of vista and office 2007 on my production/day to day machine … instead of a machine that is used just for beta junk…

now to see how it handles the day to day tasks that i have gotten used to doing on the old version.. and seeing how much ‘better’ this is really gonna be.

heard this while driving home from work.. and pulled it up again to read again..

this puts to light why the actions of our congress and senate… with their stupid non-binding resolutions hurt our troops

like i wrote before… time to take the fight to the bad guys… let the ttroops do what they have to.. to stay alive and to win this fight

Things that I am tired of in this war:

I am tired of Democrats saying they are patriotic and then insulting my commander in chief and the way he goes about his job.

I am tired of Democrats who tell me they support me, the soldier on the ground, and then tell me the best plan to win this war is with a “phased redeployment” (liberal-speak for retreat) out of the combat zone to someplace like Okinawa.

I am tired of the Democrats whining for months on T.V., in the New York Times, and in the House and Senate that we need more troops to win the war in Iraq, and then when my Commander in Chief plans to do just that, they say that is the wrong plan, it won’t work, and we need a “new direction.”

I am tired of every Battalion Sergeant Major and Command Sergeant Major I see over here being more concerned about whether or not I am wearing my uniform in the “spot on,” most garrison-like manner; instead of asking me whether or not I am getting the equipment I need to win the fight, the support I need from my chain of command, or if the chow tastes good.

I am tired of junior and senior officers continually doubting the technical expertise of junior enlisted soldiers who are trained far better to do the jobs they are trained for than these officers believe.

I am tired of senior officers and commanders who fight this war with more of an eye on the media than on the enemy, who desperately needs killing.

I am tired of the decisions of Sergeants and Privates made in the heat of battle being scrutinized by lawyers who were not there and will never really know the state of mind of the young soldiers who were there and what is asked of them in order to survive.

I am tired of CNN claiming that they are showing “news,” with videotape sent to them by terrorists, of my comrades being shot at by snipers, but refusing to show what happens when we build a school, pave a road, hand out food and water to children, or open a water treatment plant.

I am tired of following the enemy with drones that have cameras, and then dropping bombs that sometimes kill civilians; because we could do a better job of killing the right people by sending a man with a high powered rifle instead.

I am tired of the thousands of people in the rear who claim that they are working hard to support me when I see them with their mochas and their PX Bags walking down the street, in the middle of the day, nowhere near their workspaces.

I am tired of Code Pink, Daily Kos, Al-Jazzera, CNN, Reuters, the Associated Press, ABC, NBC, CBS, the ACLU, and CAIR thinking that they somehow get to have a vote in how we blast, shoot and kill these animals who would seek to subdue us and destroy us.

I am tired of people like Meredith Vieria from NBC asking oxygen thieves like Senator Chuck Hagel questions like “Senator, at this point, do you think we are fighting and dying for nothing?” Meredith might not get it, but soldiers do know the difference between fighting and dying for something and fighting and dying for nothing.

I am tired of hearing multiple stories from both combat theaters about snipers begging to do their jobs while commanders worry about how the media might portray the possible casualties and what might happen to their career.

I am tired of hearing that the Battalion Tactical Operations Center got a new plasma screen monitor for daily briefings, but rifle scope rings for sniper rifles, extra magazines, and necessary field gear were disapproved by the unit supply system.

I am tired of out of touch general officers, senators, congressmen and defense officials who think that giving me some more heavy body armor to wear is helping me stay alive. Speed is life in combat and wearing 55 to 90 pounds of gear for 12 to 20 hours a day puts me at a great tactical disadvantage to the idiot, mindless terrorist who is wearing no armor at all and carrying an AK-47 and a pistol.

I am tired of soldiers who are stationed in places like Kuwait and who are well away from any actual combat getting Hostile Fire/Imminent Danger Pay and the Combat Zone Tax Exclusion when they live on a base that has a McDonald’s, a Pizza Hut, a Subway, a Baskin Robbins, an internet café, 2 coffee shops and street lights.

I am tired of senior officers and commanders who take it out and “measure” every time they want to have a piece of the action with their helicopters or their artillery; instead of putting their egos aside and using their equipment to support the grunt on the ground.

I am tired of senior officers and commanders who are too afraid for their careers to tell the truth about what they need to win this war to their bosses so that the soldiers can get on with kicking the ass of these animals.

I am tired of Rules of Engagement being made by JAG lawyers and not Combat Commanders. We are not playing Hopscotch over here. There is no 2nd place trophy either. I think that if the enemy knew some rough treatment and some deprivation was at hand for them, instead of prayer rugs, special diets and free Korans; this might help get their terrorist minds “right.”

I am tired of seeing Active Duty Army and Marine units being extended past their original redeployment dates, when there are National Guard Units that have yet to deploy to a combat zone in the last 40 years.

I am tired of hearing soldiers who are stationed in safe places talk about how hard their life is.

I am tired of seeing Infantry Soldiers conducting what amounts to “SWAT” raids and performing the US Army’s version of “CSI Iraq” and doing things like filling out forms for evidence when they could be better used to hunt and kill the enemy.

I am tired of senior officers and commanders who look first in their planning for how many casualties we might take, instead of how many enemy casualties we might inflict.

I am tired of begging to be turned loose so that this war can be over.

Those of us who fight this war want to win it and go home to their families. Prolonging it with attempts to do things like collect “evidence” or present whiz bang briefings on a new plasma screen TV is wasteful and ultimately, dulls the edge of our Infantry soldiers who are trained to kill people and break things, not necessarily in that order.

We are not in Iraq and Afghanistan to build nations. We are there to kill our enemies. We make the work of the State Department easier by the results we achieve.

It is only possible to defeat an enemy who kills indiscriminately by utterly destroying him. He cannot be made to yield or surrender. He will fight to the death by the hundreds to kill only one or two of us.

And so far, all of our “games” have been “away games,” and I don’t know about the ignorant, treasonous Democrats and the completely insane radical leftists and their thoughts on the matter, but I would like to keep our road game schedule.

So let’s get it done. Until the fight is won and there is no more fight left.

today is a happy day indeed… for nerds

my ssh client of choice .. putty has finally incorperated serial as a connection type. as one that has to connect to swithces, routers, sun servers.. all that have serial connections… i had to have multiple programs to do the work…

teraterm, poderosa, securecrt and even hyperterm if needed would be the way i would connect if i was on windows….

but last week… they released putty beta 0.59. changelog

now my putty does everything.. ssh, telnet, tunnels and now serial connections without needing .net framework 2 like poderosa does…

run as fast as your fingers will take you to the putty download page fly like a bird without bird flu and be an early adopter…

next on the list is tabbed windows… which would make putty probably the best client ever… for my needs..

poderosa has pretty much everything… i just don’t like the interface as much.. and the windows size would reset .. which think was addressed in the latest release.. but… i will need to spend some time and see what i can and can’t change… and the tweakability of it.

there are rumors that peter forsberg may be coming back to the avalanche….

this would mean trading jose theodore to philadelphia flyers.. basically a $5 million dollar contract for a $5 million contract.. but the avs would probably need to give up a lot more to get foppa back

wait a second… the nordiques got foppa by trading eric lindros to the flyers.. and now we are talking about trading for him again…

maybe we get him back for a couple more years before he goes back to sweden and plays for moda…

who said that… who is rezas husband? what wall are they talking about..

ok.. here is the speech.. president reagans speech about the berlin wall

the reason for this… is a recent interview by spiegel with new mexican president felipe caldéron.. and his comparison of the border fence to the berlin wall..

read it here

ummm… last i checked… mexico was not a state. we are not north united states and south united states .. well.. there is north/south.. but there is a redneck connotation.. not that other one… and he was president of mexico… and has no authority here in the states

here is the snippet of the interview

spiegel: About a half-million Mexicans migrate to the United States every year in order to try their luck there. Now the Bush administration wants to build a 1,100 kilometer (684 mile) barrier along the border.

caldéron: It’s hard to believe that a wall is now being built in Arizona and Texas only 17 years after the world celebrated the fall of the Berlin Wall. There are social and economic reasons for migration to the United States. It is a natural consequence of globalization. What is more, the North American and the Mexican economies complement each other in an ideal way: The United States has the capital, and we have the labor force.

spiegel: Immigrants currently transfer about $24 billion per year from the United States to Mexico. This is Mexico’s second-largest source of currency, after petroleum. Can the exodus still be stopped?

caldéron: If the Americans would invest more here, the Mexican workers would stay at home. I told the American president that it makes more sense to build a single kilometer of road in a poorly developed Mexican state than to build 10 kilometers of his wall.

first… i like the word ‘migrate’ .. instead of the more appropriate… cross border illegally.. enter country illegally.. work in said country illegally using you guessed it… illegal documentation.. and sending boat loads of money back to mexico.. without money coming back into the united states… except the pescos for pizza program that is cropping up all over the place and previously wirtten about.

second… post 9/11 … what makes the mexican president think that the united states wants to play around with securing their border.. on a known weakspot where people, terrorists, drugs, etc… are all smuggled in. who is he to say anything about the united states trying to stem the tide of illegal immigrants into the workforce and population.

there is no correlation to the berlin wall and the border fence that is being talked about .. again.. look at things like the dmz in korea… the great wall of china.. really look at the berlin wall… or any fence across the usa .. like at groom lake/area51.. where it is shoot to kill.. for its own citizens… this fence if to keep non citizens out.

on any of the real fences and walls… if you try to jump, crawl, get around it.. they will shoot you… arrest you.. on the border now… there are water station because there are some that wander out to the desert and die… how about a little preparation if you are going to sneak into another country for goodness sake… take some canteens.. powerbars…. whatever.

the social and economic reasons he mentions are because the economy in mexico sucks. even illegals can make more picking fruit than living in their own country. it is not a natural consequence of globalization.. it is a consequence of weak enforcement and some weird sense of entitlement that these ‘migrators’ have about their right to trespass, break dozens of laws, and live in a country that offers them better jobs and standard of living and still have enough to send money back to the family they leave behind… than they could ever have… living in their own country.

his mentality that if the united states spent even more money with mexico… that mexican nationals would stay and not cross the borders… is retarded. think about all the travel that american engage in… to mexico.. they even had a superbowl thing for flip the dolphin to get to go to mexico… and spend much bucks on booze, souvenirs, prescription meds, hotels, resorts, booze… and lacquered frogs… playing guitars

and news flash mr mexican president.. there are already roads… into and out of mexico .. there are legal mechanisms for mexican nationals to come into the united states.. and build the life that they are not able to have back home…

that is the same arguement as if a car thief would stop stealing cars if car makers gave him money… wait.. there is a word for that is there not? extortion?

give me a break… he can start making berlin wall comparisons when mexican nationals make a break for it with soldiers shooting guns at their car like macgyver did and breaking through the fence… to cross the border… or doing the slow walk in exchange for a prisoner of war getting to go home.. walking slowly past each over of the bridge… or if.. national guardsmen would actually shoot to kill if they see someone crossing the border…

in most countries… a mass influx of nationals from another country over their borders would be seen as an act of war or invasion… not a migration….

migration is for birds and caribou

build the fence… put up gun turrets… take away the water stations… shoot on sight…. make people enter the country the proper and legal way.

the duke lacrosse players that were unjustly named, charged, smeared, kicked out, jobs lost look to be getting a little reprieve…

all of the evidence.. wait.. there are 4.. no 8 different stories on what happened? seems to be enough to exculpate these young men… but just the process of having their name put out there that way… and having a negligent and power hungry overreaching prosecutor in mike nifong who appeared more interested in getting re-elected than carrying out justice .. who should be disbarred at minimum.. and at best.. behind bars and paying restitution to the families of these  young men and announcing at every turn that he was wrong and that he ruined lives.

not trying to blame a potential victim.. but this woman has made reporting rape that much harder now for any young lady on campus… what was a he said/she said issue is now going to carry a nifong cloud… not just in durham, nc .. but everywhere.  especially when the incidents of rape are already a meager 1 in 4 reported.. this retard brings more shame on the victim… both nifong and the accuser.. if she fabricated all of this… need to be in prision…  good luck not getting raped in there mike.

lets see how this plays out.. but at this point.. they need to fully drop all charges pending on these guys and let them live their lives… there is not enough evidence to hold them hostage and psychologically, financially, and emotionally rape these guys and their families any further

part 2 of the english to korean to engrish to koreum to konglish — this is horrible.. and to think that people use this as a method to translate things for business .. scary… or should i .. wait.. i don’t know what to say.. fix it google/bablefish/rosetta stone/whatever translator you are using .. you can’t just tag everthing beta or charge hundreds of dollars .. cause your non-beta translation suck just as bad ..

you can actually buy your own translation sweat shop slave .. cause all the koreans learn english.. and translation should be fine.. or just keep using the free online stuff that is pretty good for what it is.. but still

using a simple .. very well known nursery rhyme…

twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky. twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are

this person of you it goes out and the method which it tries to think, it glitters, it glitters, the enemy the star. the diamond which is to sky with the together up of the world it is like this high piece height. this person of you it goes out and the method which it tries to think, it glitters, it glitters, the enemy the star

You this person goes out and it the method the fact that it thinks, it it shines, the enemy star it shines. The formation of a cabinet altitude where the diamond which is it in the sky which has together the comfort of the world is high together is. You this person goes out and it the method the fact that it thinks, it it shines, the enemy star it shines

no.. that is not my engrish …. as there are some that are royally opposed to this administration.. and specifically to president bush

as i am watching/listening to the state of the union … with the clap fest that begins with all of those in both parties waiting in the aisle that the president is going to walk through.. even if they hate him.. they want some face time on national tv…

there are a lot of us that are loyal to the united states.. but growing opposed to how the administration has executed the fight over in iraq.

the words. the lack of getting insight and ideas from outside… all are frustrating.

this was probably the best line in the whole speech… again a few years too late.

This is not the fight we entered in Iraq, but it is the fight we’re in. Every one of us wishes this war were over and won. Yet it would not be like us to leave our promises unkept, our friends abandoned, and our own security at risk. Ladies and gentlemen: On this day, at this hour, it is still within our power to shape the outcome of this battle. Let us find our resolve, and turn events toward victory. ( read the whole thing here )

although the speech as decent.. delivery was spotty at times which is paar for course for president bush…. kind of that.. dog with tail between the legs attitude. he was sheepish.. looked tired. but he should be heartened that the speech was good… and most of what was said was fair

policy wise… hate the immigration amnesty plan.. the insurance tax savings seems interesting… i loved the call out of the earmarks and fiscal irresponsibility that the congress has shown over the past few years…

i love the shout out to all the north koreans on the peninsula (love his struggle with the pronunciation) but i want nukes… so we can blow kim jong il away..

a lot of the speech should have been passed along before the elections…

i hate that people consider reintroducing 21,500 troops back into baghdad is some major undertaking… if they needed to.. they could mobilize the entire armed forces and have over 500,000 troops in play if they wanted. the troop level is the same as it was a few months ago… but this time.. there are new rules… we have gotten better at the door to door.. house to house search and destroy missions that this battle has turned into…

i just really hate the clap fest. and the akward introductions of people like mutumbo ? that was just weird. and the ny subway hero guy…

it is nice that the democrats held to some semblance of decorum and applauded the president.. but they panned to the presidential hopefuls a bit too much.. joe biden looked like he was sleeping. hillary with her smirk.. during the insurance policy statement… priceless. hillarycare is gonna be so sweet.

i will have to read the democratic response…

lets see if the presidents gets a it more time to let the plan work… or show signs of improving the situation in iraq

hope you are not seeing a whole bunch of squares.. the science behind the translation is sweet.. but still needs some work

this is a test. this is a test of the google language tools. i am testing the translation of what i am writing to how it translate back from english to korean i blogged about the ‘lost in translation’ thing and how certain words and phrases are not translated properly.. i also want to see if you all have asian language support in your browsers.. lets see how good the translation is… or how funny it comes out you should also try to convert it back…

This is test. This is test of google language tools. I go out and after writing from in Korean language language, i go out and the translation “i examine and I with translation ” word and the phrase which are specific it is translated [coh] the method which probably is not where stares blogged things, from, translate method English which it loses. Also writing you the Asia language support which all is you browser wants probably the report which is it. Good translation… How many probably is many this fun it comes out, in order to see also must attempt a fact after it reorganizes it,… It is you it does

omg!!! this is so funny.

actually.. i used to run things through multiple languages to write emails to random people and make them figure out what was happening…

alrighty… yea nuggets…

carmelo anthony + allen iverson + earl boykins steve blake + marcus camby +fat nene skinnier nene had their first game together… and won!

have been waiting since december for this… first time in a long time that i have been amped about watching the nuggets…

as a denver homer fan.. i love all the teams.. ever since my family moved here in 1984…. and have enjoyed having all the major sports… even the rockies.

but the nuggets are finally making the moves that they needed to make.. and the combo of players is right now… even with kenyon martin out of the mix…

go get the 14 game pack.. or go to a family night where it is like $55 for 4 people… it is fun… and watch the usher in section 112 breakdance during commercial breaks.  and the pepsi center is a great place for sports… not a bad seat.. hockey, basketball, arena football, lacrosse… all are great fun .. especially when your team wins

i hope my wife gets more time in the suites …

if you have read any of my posts.. you will see that i engage in poking and prodding and being over the top… all with a purpose though… make you think. make you angry.. make you react.. make you laugh…

actually.. i do like to offend.  i am very imposing per my wife..  cause i exude aggression and intimidation and my frown and scowl not only stop my kids in their tracks but grownups too…  (poor waitress at pf changs… could barely make eye contact… after making us wait 15 minutes before taking our order).  i just wear my emotions on my sleeve and i am going to let you know if i am not happy about something. yeah.. sometimes it is over stupid stuff.. or road raging.. actually… i call it aggressive driving.. to prevent people that have maybe slighted me on the road.. or not following proper road etiquette… i will block speeders in.. and hold them from passing..

it is like one of those w.w.j.d moments… what whould jesus do? what would jesus blog? what would jesus rant about?

are you conforming to whatever is pushed at you from both left and right sides?  do you conform to your safe church going habit?  do you just pray your 3 sec prayer before you eat?  do you get offended because it really offends you.. or because society tells you that you should be offended?

i poke fun of my race, my people, our culture, our speech… cause i think that more over the top you go.. it brings the median line up a bit… on what is commonplace and acceptable.

i am in it to offend.. and if i have not offended you.. then i am not doing a good enough job… then you think like i do.. just afraid to say it…

i generally try to follow up with people that leave comments that are contrary to whatever i have posted… a lot of times.. i have the same viewpoint.. but want them to be able to justify their position….   i have had extended exchanges with some… but a lot of times.. they reach a point where they can no longer fight back… again.. even if i agree with them.. i want them to do the research and have an informed viewpoint.. and i will toss them the opposing side.. as that helps me form my options as well..

be offended.  but know why you are…
